WTTN: Wellness & Awareness - Program for Eritrean Clients
Join us for a welcoming weekly program for Eritrean newcomers to Canada, designed to support a successful resettlement through learning, connection, and wellbeing.
Each Sunday, participants attend two 1.5-hour sessions: a workshop in Tigrinya about maintaining your wellbeing facilitated by Eden Mebrahtu, and a practical information session focused on employment, career upgrading, trades, digital literacy, and other essential settlement topics. Men and women meet in separate groups and rotate between sessions so everyone participates in both. Childcare activities are available for children aged 4 and up. Lunch will be provided for everyone. The program offers a supportive and encouraging space to build knowledge, confidence, and independence.

Join Mabelle Arts and partners Arts4All and Woodgreen for a multi-arts journey!
Through different art practices, including music, poetry, storytelling, visual arts, dance, interactive installation puppetry & voice, we'll explore topics of home, change, symbols, navigating new places.
This workshop is free, and is open to newcomers who are Permanent Residents or Convention Refugees, +18. Refreshments will be provided.

WTTN: Shedding Light - Creative Workshop Series
Discover, create, and celebrate! Join us for Shedding Light, a two-part online creative workshop series exploring how newcomers learn new words and navigate new worlds.
Through art, storytelling, and reflection, participants will engage in meaningful conversations while expressing their experiences through painting, drawing, canvas work, and more.
Led by documentary photographer Katrin Faridani and poet/storyteller Rishikesh Sharma, this guided creative experience invites participants to explore powerful words, images, objects, and personal stories.
Together, participants will contribute to a collective lantern-building project, culminating in a special in-person gathering at The Belle, Mabelle Arts’ studio space.
This is a hybrid workshop, with two online sessions and one in-person session.

Calling all Mabelle Avenue Seniors: We’re making a mural in Mabelle Park, and we want to hear from you!
Oddside Arts is hosting community engagement workshops for Mabelle Avenue Residents to gather stories and ideas for a mural that will be painted in Mabelle Park. These sessions are a space to reflect on connection, care, and what it means to gather in a place that serves such a meaningful purpose for the Mabelle community. You’ll also get to meet the lead muralist Jacquie Comrie and supporting muralist Jasmine Vanstone.
Together, we’ll explore how Mabelle Park can continue to grow as an art park and community centre. Your lived experiences, cultural narratives, and hopes for the space will directly inform the mural’s design.

In this two day workshop, Kadija de Paula will give you an overview of different opportunities that can help you support your artistic practice in Canada. She will talk about public and private arts funding, including grants, awards and open calls for proposals. She will empower you to navigate and prioritize what makes sense to you in your career path and arrival journey, so that you can stay true to your artistic practice and your settling needs. Participants can expect to delve into strategies and practical tools for maximizing their chances of success. Drawing from her experience as an immigrant and her extensive background as an artist and arts administrator, Kadija will share valuable insights on striking a balance between administrative demands and nurturing your creativity.
