In Full Bloom Wednesday Workshops — Cyanotype Printing Series (Merle Harley)
Join Mabelle Arts for our Friday Cyanotype Printing Workshops in July!
This weekly workshop series captures the life cycle of plants through light and time. Participants will use leaves, flowers, and botanical materials to create cyanotype prints — deep blue sun prints that record the shapes of nature. Each session adds new prints to a growing collection, and over time, all contributions will be assembled into large community banners or costume. These elements become a living archive of participation, growth, and collective creativity — a lasting reminder that gardens, like communities, are built together.
Merle Harley is an interdisciplinary artist working across printmaking, textiles, and mixed media. Their practice embraces experimentation, humour, and community participation, with a strong focus on accessible, process-driven art-making.
In Full Bloom Friday Workshop — Crown Yourself in Colour (Hanan Hazime)
Join Mabelle Arts for our Tuesday Crown Yourself in Colour Workshop in July!
As plants grow and unfold, they develop leaves, blossoms, and fruit — each stage holding meaning and purpose. In this workshop, participants will create nature-inspired headbands drawing from these forms, using simple materials and decorative techniques. Alongside making, Hanan invites reflection on growth, transformation, and what we carry forward from each season of life. The result is a wearable piece that honors both personal growth and the ongoing cycles of the natural world.
Hanan Hazime is a Lebanese-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, writer, and community arts facilitator whose practice focuses on storytelling, identity, and collective creativity. Through accessible making and gentle prompts, Hanan creates welcoming spaces where participants can explore personal expression and shared reflection.

In Full Bloom Tuesday Workshops — Pollen Grains and Seeds (Charmaine Lurch)
Join Mabelle Arts for our Tuesday Pollinator Power workshop in July!
As flowering plants rely on pollinators to continue their life cycle. Each participant will create and embellish a wire sculpture of grains of pollen, which will then become wearable or form parts of a clod of pollen grains - the spark that becomes the seed, each of us may be granular but together we become a garden. This tactile, reflective session emphasizes how creativity, like nature, depends on interdependence and shared responsibility.
Charmaine Lurch is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist whose work explores environmental relationships, ecology, and interconnected systems through sculpture, painting, and community engagement. Her bee sculptures highlight the essential role pollinators play in sustaining life and creative ecosystems.

In Full Bloom Tuesday Workshops — Floral Fashions (Trixie & Beever)
Join Mabelle Arts for our Tuesday Floral Fashions workshop in July!
This workshop celebrates the moment when a garden bursts into colour. Guided by Trixie and Beever, participants will create bold, flower-inspired wearable elements using vibrant materials, textures, and playful embellishments. Colour becomes a language of identity, and each bloom reflects the maker’s personality — some loud, some subtle, all essential. Together, participants form a metaphorical garden made up of wildly different flowers, thriving side by side in joyful contrast. A celebration of abundance, diversity, and self-expression at full bloom.
Toronto-based design duo Trixie and Beever are known for their exuberant use of colour, camp aesthetics, pop culture references, and an unapologetic love of glitter. Their collaborative practice spans wearable design, objects, and participatory experiences that invite joy, play, and bold self-expression. Together, they create spaces where individuality is celebrated and creativity flourishes in full colour.
